For today's #FreeFictionFriday post I'm going to share two memoir-type articles that first appeared in the Cunningham Courier, a weekly newspaper for Cunningham, KS (about an hour west of Wichita, where I lived for 25 years).
Click the link here to download the PDF from my Patreon page for free. Both stories are kind of memoir-like ramblings with a bit of humor. Not fiction this week, but heh.
One of the memories has to do with my interest in music and wanting to be in a rock and roll band since I was a teen. I mean, come on. What kid hasn't wanted to be in a band? A dream that I finally realized for about 5 years with a group called "Bottoms Up" when we lived in Wichita. (Pictured below - that's me next to the keyboardist.)
The other article is about going "walkabout" - a term I learned when I lived in Australia for a year during high school. I merged these articles into one PDF, so they are from different issues of the same newspaper. There are other articles on these two pages - so a side treat is you get to read a few local obituaries, if you're into that sort of thing. (grin)
Anyway, enjoy this week's edition of Story Thoughts. If you enjoy these weekly tales, feel free to comment and say hello. You can also find me online via my Link Tree at LinkTree/LynPerryWriter. Drop me a note and tell me some of your dreams and funny memories from when you were a kid. Until next week, Lyn
PS Here’s the link again to this week’s free “story” - a few memories in PDF form.
